Flood hazard mapping and risk assessment of the Upper Squamish River has been undertaken. The project was funded by a grant from Emergency Management BC. The project was commissioned by the SLRD and prepared by Northwest Hydraulic Consultants (NHC) Ltd., which has recently performed similar work in the Pemberton Valley, on behalf of the Pemberton Valley Dyking District. The report findings will allow for better and more accurate emergency management response plans, as well as informing work done by the SLRD planning department related to property development in Electoral Area D. Stakeholders are invited to a public meeting, where NHC will present the report findings, with a Q&A session to follow.
